About

Composition is the craft of writing stories words can’t express.

Tate Archer is an Australian composer & producer of classical, orchestral-hybrid, and electronic music.

Born and raised on the beautiful Coffs coast, Tate found a love of film, music and video games at an early age. Growing up listening to the likes of Crowded House, Cold Chisel, & the Arctic Monkeys, he began his undergrad studies at the University of Newcastle intent on becoming a songwriter, before somewhat stumbling into the realisation that his true passion was for the screen. Inspired by the works of Marcin Przybyłowicz (The Witcher), John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon), Howard Shore (LOTR), he commenced his foray into composition to picture in 2022, releasing his first works under Ireheart Enchanting. By 2024 he’d moved to writing under his own name, and has since composed for short film, documentary and video games.

Tate is currently composing for the short film Uncanny Valley, writing a music suite for Recovery Breath Experience, and producing the nostalgic concept album The Shattered Realms, as well as a collection of piano works to be released later this year.
